3803-MOD Surge Protective Devices for Modbus Networks
Surge Protective Devices (SPD) for Modbus & Modbus Plus Networks
The Cat. No. 3803-MOD is designed to provide transient voltage surge suppression for programmable logic devices and other computer-related data network products operating on Modbus and Modbus Plus networks. This SPD provides low clamping voltages and the ability to withstand high transient current surges that may be encountered by programmable logic devices operating in harsh electro-magnetic environments or geographic areas where a high probability exists of encountering the damaging effects of lightning-induced transients.
STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS
The Cat. No. 3803-MOD is designed for use on Modbus and Modbus Plus networks to provide transient voltage surge protection utilizing connections compatible with standard 3-Pin Communication Port Connectors (or equivalent). The device provides two ground connection options:
- A ground plate for direct connection to the I/O chassis ground stud, and;
- A pig-tail lead for direct connection to any ground bus.
The Cat. No. 3803-MOD Industrial Controls SPD has been tested to IEEE C62.36 Standard Test Methods for Surge Protectors Used in Low-Voltage, Data and Communication Signaling Circuits, and UL497B Protection for Data Communication. The Cat. No. 3803-MOD is backed by Leviton's 10-Year Limited Warranty.
