Surge Protective Device (SPD) For DH-485 Networks

The Cat. No. 3803-485 is designed to provide transient voltage surge suppression for programmable logic devices and other computer-related data network products operating on Allen Bradley DH-485 data networks. DH-485 networks are typically connected using Belden* cable No. 9842 or equivalent. The Cat. No. 3803-485 provides low clamping voltages and the ability to withstand high transient current surges that may be encountered by programmable logic devices operating in harsh electromagnetic environments or geographic areas where a high probability exists of encountering the damaging effects of lighting induced transients.

Standards Specifications

The Cat. No. 3803-485 is designed for use on Allen Bradley DH-485 data networks to provide transient voltage surge protection for programmable logic controllers and accessories, such as Allen-Bradley DH-485 Panel-View 550 terminals, connected via 1747-AIC Link Couplers (or equivalent). The device provides two options for ground connection: A ground plate for direct connection to the 1771 I/O chassis ground stud, and a pig-tail lead for direct connection to the ground bus. The Cat. No. 3803-485 SPD has been tested to IEEE C62.36 Standard Test Methods for Surge Protectors Used in Low-Voltage, Data and Communication Signaling Circuits, and UL 497B Protection for Data Communication and Fire Alarm Circuits. The Cat. No. 3803-485 is backed by Leviton's 5-year Limited Warranty.
