Surge Protective Devices (SPD)

Cat. No. 3800 devices are designed for mounting in standard equipment cabinets where transient voltage surge suppression is desired for the enclosed equipment. The MOV-based circuit design of each module provides Normal Mode and Common Mode protection for line to neutral, line to ground and neutral to ground. The 3800 modules feature compact "black box" styling. Three modules are available: DIN-rail mounting, terminal block wiring or wire leads.

The Cat No. 3800 Equipment-Cabinet Surge Protective Devices (SPD) are designed for use on 120V single-phase AC power lines. The 3800-OWM, DIN and OEM modules feature a green LED monitor to indicate loss of protection. (Light out indicates that protection is lost, replace unit.) In the event protection is lost, unit will continue to provide power to connected loads. These devices are UL Recognized Component TVSS 1449 Standard. The Cat. No. 3800 is backed by Leviton's Limited Five Year Warranty.

The Cat. No. 3801-DIN Surge Protection Module is designed to mount on DIN rails in equipment cabinets where convenient plug-in transient voltage surge suppression is desired for cord-connected equipment. Each module provides MOV-based Normal Mode and Common Mode protection (L-N, L-G, & N-G).

Standards Specifications

The 3801-DIN Equipment Cabinet Surge Protection Module is designed for use on 120V single-phase AC power sources. The module has a green protection LED (the LED turns off when surge protection is lost). Power continues to be provided to connected loads in the event of protection loss. The 6-pin configuration allows for feedthru power input wiring. There are two options for a ground connection:

1. A ground tab, sized for 1/4" studs, provided for direct connection to equipment ground frame systems:
2. A low inductance ground braid strap is provided for use when mechanical mounting constraints preclude the use of the metal ground tab.

This device is supplied with a non-conductive DIN-rail mount designed for 35mm Standard and 32mm "G" type rails. The 3801-DIN is a UL Recognized Component (US & Canada) to UL1449 2nd Edition requirements, and backed by Leviton's 10-year Limited Warranty.
