The SI-35A is a handsome, dual-channel Intercom and Program distribution system designed to serve the intercom and program distribution needs of schools, businesses and institutions.
The SI-35A serves up to 75 rooms or remote locations and provides custom flexibility in a space saving design. Furnished with 25 room selector switches, it has space available for 75, or for a Bogen CR-100 cassette player/tuner and 50 room switches.
In addition to its intercom function, the SI-35A can distribute program material from a variety of sources, such as microphone, tape or tuner, and can distribute tone signals and emergency announcements.
Each unit includes a built-in 20-watt intercom amplifier and separate 35-watt program amplifier. These permit instant communication with any location without interrupting the distribution of program to others.
The control panel features color-coded buttons and guides, with step-by-step instructions, allowing even first time users to operate the system easily. Emergency announcements to all locations are accomplished with a single push button and take precedence over all other system functions. Facilities are included for all-call distribution of a tone signal (for classroom changes or telephone night bell) and telephone paging.
Remote stations may be wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted loudspeakers, or horn-type speakers in high-noise or outdoor locations that enable hands-free reply when called. A call-in switch can be provided at any remote station where call initiation capability is desired.
When the control panel selects a remote for intercommunication or monitoring, the remote receives a repeating tone signal. Calls to the control center are announced by tone signal and identified by light annunciation.
The control center provides a 25-volt balanced line output to drive a distributed speaker system. Recommended wiring is 3-conductor, shielded, 18, 20 or 22 AWG. Room connection is made easy using crimp-on connectors (purchased separately).
The control center is constructed of sturdy material and is finished in an attractive simulated walnut.
